SUPPORT EWA,
AN AFI THESIS FILM
Support a team of passionate filmmakers on a journey of telling a coming-of-age story rooted in Nigerian folklore, African spirituality, and the lived experience of the African diaspora.
WHY YOUR DONATION MATTERS
Aside from our team being on a time crunch with principal photography scheduled in November, funding from this campaign would allow us to produce culturally authentic masquerade costumes and ceremonial elements. With your help, we can successfully expand production design to fully realize the film's folkloric world, properly compensate specialized craftspeople and cultural consultants and maintain the production value necessary for a competitive festival run. This support would help introduce audiences to an underrepresented cinematic world. We know EWA has the potential to reach international audiences and communities eager to see African stories told with beauty, complexity, and authenticity.
